Nordic Imports w/ SMOOD
Next episode Tuesday 15 May 2018
Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, SMOOD is made up of Shoulderpipe and DJ Aleksi. SMOOD provides Radar with Nordic Imports, a show full of Nordic tunes, mainly in weird forms of house and techno. They’ve got keen ears for chiefly Northern European sounds that are untamed and unique, and blend them together in “preferably long sets that go from point A to point Œ.” The show exclusively focuses on sounds from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, so expect a monthly delivery of underground house and techno as well as the occasional feature interview with Nordic heroes.
Having collaborated together since 2013, the pair hosts evenings in Finland and air on the national radio station Basso. On top of the usual club grind, the dudes behind SMOOD have been keeping active in the scene for years. Aleksi is one of the founders of the Dept.-label, and Shoulderpipe has been working with music media throughout the years as a writer. You can catch these chaps on the move in and around the Nordics, with a constant boogie in their hearts.
